Diverse Community Leader Award

Patty Turrell (Orange County) – Patty founded the non-profit, Women’s Journey Foundation, 19 years ago to address the disparity in the way women and girls see themselves and their true potential. She has determinedly planned and organized conferences, events and programs that promote healing, connecting, educating and empowering women of all ages and backgrounds.

Her non-profit is 100% volunteer based and over the years has served thousands of girls and women, as well as boys and men. Patty demonstrates service and dedication in a loving and inclusive way by bringing together diverse groups of women to volunteer in community groups like the Boys & Girls Clubs of O.C., WISE Place Women’s Shelter, and the Girl Scouts. Patty’s passion for this foundation is shown by her tireless efforts and work put in without any salary earned. Because of Patty’s vision and hard work, thousands of women and girls in Orange County and beyond have expanded their vision of themselves and what is possible, connected with other women and girls to give and receive mentoring and collaborations, and stepped up into leadership positions in their schools, communities, and organizations.
